International Women's Day was almost a month ago, but powerful women never stop inspiring each other. And before we get out there and kick ass, there is no harm in throwing on the perfect power suit. Tailoring is power. A woman in a suit is the embodiment of authority, of control, of strength, and simultaneously a confirmation of all that is chic. This year, we see so many runway styles that played with extreme proportions, patterns, and volumes, which we can all agree are impactful but not very wearable. So I thought I'd round-up of the best pantsuits to own this Spring to save you some trouble (You're welcome) ;) The Comeback ClassicDouble breasted wool blazer with a twist from Balmain - think padded shoulders, impeccable tailoring, and lion-embossed gold-tone metal buttons. Or you can opt for a blazer without buttons from Tibi for an effortless look. These trousers from Brunello Cucinelli are cropped and perfect to match any black blazer. Yep, sorry, no jeans.
On me: Helmut Lang - I love the slim but straight cut and the paneling/pocket details that give it a 'boyfriend' feeling.

I was super excited to be invited by Veuve Clicquot to a place I've been hearing good things about.
Having stopped by for I Love You So Coffee a few times — LOVE their balanced mix of Indonesian antiques with metal frame structures, and of course, chilling on their oh-so-cozy lounge sofas — Potato Head Hong Kong is also home to KAUM that I've just been dying to try. The place pays tribute to the ethnic, traditional crafts of the Indonesian archipelago by engaging their small-scale producers to create a culture-rich space. The bespoke wooden ceiling panels were hand-painted by Toraja tribe artisans in South Sulawesi; cushions and chair covers feature textiles from North Sumatra, hand-woven by the Batak tribe; even the teak furniture was hand-crafted. The hanging plant boxes by Sou Fujimoto and wooden furniture gave the place an ease. I headed in through the blue curtains, to find an intimate space with open kitchen and wooden communal tables, echoing the name of the restaurant, meaning “clan” or “tribe” in Indonesian. Thou shalt not repeat your outfits.
This used to be my number one commandment when it comes to dressing, then I ended up with a wardrobe full of clothes but nothing to wear. Everyone has their own fail-proof formula. Simply ask yourself: If cafes are staycations, coffee shops are gas stations. So coffee shops are, yes, only for the energy boost mentally and physically, but not necessarily for chilling. (Will do another post on places that are great for people-watching and diving your heads into laptops, I promise!) These are the places I (only) get my coffee from, so please say hi if you see me there!
I was invited to a pop-up exhibition yesterday, curated by the Artisanal Movement, a journey amassing a modern living culture through their persistence in delivering bespoke craftsmanship manifested by originality. Creating the likes of Eight Kwai Fong, Cobo House, Artisan Room, K11, and having worked with designer-artists including Shunmyo Masuno and Lam Tung Pang, the Movement creates contemporary architectures with humanised aesthetics. Below are some shots from the exhibition: The exhibition will unfortunately not be open to public, but I'm sure we're all excited to see more hints of art in their new establishments.
